Preeti (she/her) is a Registered Social Worker, Psychotherapist with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers.  She believes that children are the heart of the family. When young people are struggling with mental health challenges and feeling overwhelmed, it can be extremely stressful for them and their families.

Preeti is passionate about her work with families and trauma recovery and specializes in working with adults, children, and adolescents struggling with anxiety, OCD, emotional dysregulation,
mood disorders, Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), and Depression.

Preeti is skilled and trained in various modalities such as Cogntitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Trauma Focused - CBT, Narrative Therapy, Dialectic Behaviour Therapy (DBT), and Emotion Focused Family Therapy (EFFT), Internal Family Systems informed (IFS), as well as creative arts interventions.  Preeti completed her EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing) training with EMDRIA certified trainer, Dr. Amanda Bell.  She is accepting child, teen and adult clients for this trauma-specific modality. Read more about EMDR. For clients struggling to manage post traumatic symptoms, Preeti also offers the "Flash Technique" to help reduce the intensity of challenging emotions.  Read more about the Flash Technique.

Preeti believes that early interventions can be very powerful and have a long-lasting impact on future outcomes for children. Nevertheless, Preeti also believes that it is never too late for adults to receive the mental health support that they would have wanted when they were growing up.

During the course of the treatment, Preeti will support you or your child in navigating stressors to develop positive outcomes.

For children struggling with anxiety, caregivers may notice that their child will begin to engage in activities rather than avoid tasks, they will implement strategies to reduce physiological discomfort that arises from anxiety and change worried thoughts to more realistic and helpful thoughts.

When emotional dysregulation is addressed, caregivers and adults may notice reduced emotional outbursts at home and in other settings along with improved communication.

Preeti is also available to offer parent coaching to support with child development, repairing ruptures in family relationships, and improving communication within the home.
