Phil (he/him) has over 17 years of experience counselling children, adolescents and families. He specializes in working with individuals with complex mental health diagnoses, substance use issues, and conflict with the law. Phil has a particular interest in working with parents to help them bridge communication barriers, improve connection and help with overall attachment and rapport. After working with Phil, most clients have found deeper and more meaningful relationships with friends and family, and have been able to move through challenging times with a new sense of confidence and clarity.
Phil has a strong background in working with children and adults diagnosed with ADHD, behavioural challenges, anger management, performance anxiety, and big emotions. Phil is trained in Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, Dialectic Behaviour Therapy, Narrative Therapy
In addition to his background with various treatment modalities, Phil often incorporates various aspects of Art Therapy into his work with clients and also enjoys bringing humour, sports, and "geek" culture into his work.
Phil's passion for creating genuine connections with his clients is a driving force within his practice. Phil's goal is to ensure that his clients leave feeling empowered and motivated to make changes.
In his personal life, Phil enjoys spending time with his wife and 2 children, staying involved in community initiatives, and creating custom art pieces.
Phil practices under the supervision of Jana Venditti, MSW, RSW and his services are covered by most third party benefits providers. Phil can provide services in English and Spanish.
