Meet Greg
Greg Rickard (he/him) is a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) with a Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology degree from Yorkville University. Greg’s area of therapeutic interest involves Trauma-Informed and Attachment-Focused psychotherapy, and Greg has completed his certification in advanced Attachment-Focused Adult Psychotherapy. He is available to work with teens (16+), adults and couples who are managing grief and loss, anxiety, stress, depression, and life transitions. Greg has an undergraduate degree in History and Literature and works well with "creatives" who find themselves leaning into a greater awareness of themselves and are reflecting on their lives, searching for meaning and ways of naming where they are now. For Greg, it is important that his clients feel safe, heard, and unburdened throughout the therapy process.
Greg is skilled in exploring various aspects of trauma and the long term effects of early trauma on adult relationships and attachment.
He supports his clients with developing self-awareness and readiness for change and has a calm presence that can be immediately felt when meeting with him. First and foremost, Greg honours the importance of building a safe relationship between him and his clients so that they can achieve their goals in therapy with confidence. His clients can anticipate having a space to begin to explore their thoughts and feelings in a way that may not have been available to them until now.
Greg also has a specialized interest in helping his clients unpack the content of their dreams, and enjoys incorporating the work of Carl Jung and Marion Woodman into his sessions. He has completed a certification in Early Childhood Trauma and Jungian Psychology.
Greg is an avid reader and loves collecting used books, and enjoys traveling the world.
