EMDR
(Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing)

EMDR is a psychotherapy treatment for trauma recovery that involves the client focusing on distressing memories are visting while engaging in bilateral stimulation, like eye movements, tapping, or sounds.  This process aids in the brain in reprocessing traumatic memories, reducing their emotional intensity and associated distress.  By fostering adaptive processing, EMDR helps integrate traumatic experiences into one's personal narrative in a less distressing manner.  Its effectiveness lies in facilitating the brain's natural healing mechanisms, alllowing individuals to process and resolve trauma, alleviate symptoms like anxiety and flashbacks, and ultimately promote psychological healing and resilience.​
