Amy (she/her) is a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying), and Clinical Intern completing her Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology through Yorkville University. Bringing her background in education research and training as a birth and postpartum doula, Amy has years of experience supporting women and mothers in various stages of life.  She is available to work with adults and teens (16+) who are struggling to manage their mood and symptoms of depression and anxiety, depression, grieving/loss due to infertility, life transitions (including empty nesting, peri-menopause, menopause), relationship and communication issues, pregnancy loss, parenting challenges, family building, and inter-faith/inter-cultural families.

Amy has completed the Emotion Focused Couples Therapy Externship and is accepting new clients for couples therapy.  Couples struggling with communication, expression, mood, co-parenting challenges, and family conflict can find Amy as a grounded and non-judgemental guide on their path toward finding increased connection and emotional security.

 

Her goal is to help her clients improve their quality of life so that they can bring their whole self to their lives and relationships.  She wants her clients to feel seen and heard without judgment, and will partner with her clients to develop practical strategies to meet their goals.  Amy’s welcoming personality and supportive energy can be felt upon meeting her. She is an ideal clinician for any clients wanting to “unpack” and “figure things out” within their lives in a safe way.  Amy is empathetic, authentic, and knows how to help others unravel the difficulties and celebrate the joys that make up  the business of life.

 

Amy is able to offer treatment using Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, Narrative Therapy, Emotion Focused Therapy, and Dialectical Behaviour Therapy.

 

Amy is a wife, mother, dog-mom and is passionate about learning, reading, and spending time with her biological and chosen families.

While she is fulfilling her practicum requirements, Amy will be working under the clinical supervision of Kanica Coshal, MSW, RSW.  Amy's services are being offered at a reduced rate.
